Internal Affairs Deputy Minister meets head of OSCE/ODIHR observation mission

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, held a meeting with Eoghan Murphy, the head of the election observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the Ministry reported.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the upcoming parliamentary elections, emphasizing the importance of ensuring a secure and free electoral process. The Deputy Minister provided the delegation with comprehensive details regarding the effective measures undertaken by the Ministry in the pre-election period to guarantee that the elections are conducted in a free, democratic, and secure environment.

In the course of the discussion, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze also highlighted the Ministry’s completed and ongoing projects aimed at training personnel, ensuring that police officers are well-prepared to effectively fulfill their responsibilities during the election process.

Aleksandre Darakhvelidze expressed the Ministry’s readiness to cooperate proactively with the observation mission, sharing information about any potential violations during the election period and detailing the police response to such incidents.
