Interior Minister issues decree to guarantee free and safe elections
The Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, has issued an order aimed at ensuring the conduct of free and safe parliamentary elections in 2024 within a peaceful environment.
According to the order, territorial police units will be deployed to various districts, tasked with preventing, identifying, and responding to a range of legal violations.
The order mandates that police officers adhere to the principle of political neutrality while carrying out their duties.
Law enforcement officials are prohibited from being directly or indirectly involved in supporting any political party.
