Interagency Commission for Free and Fair Elections issues statement
The Interagency Commission for Free and Fair Elections has issued a statement addressing the upcoming parliamentary elections on October 26, 2024.
“The political parties and candidates are urged not to use hate speech or inflammatory language in their announcements and orations to ensure a fair election environment. The commission calls for a halt to any incitement of violence and seeks to avoid violent incidents, as well as verbal and physical confrontations during the election process.
Parties are advised to avoid insulting or pressuring public servants, stressing that such actions undermine the election environment, societal unity, and human rights as defined by national and international laws,” the commission states.
