IMF projects Georgia to be regional leader in economic growth, recovery

“Based on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) projection, Georgia will remain the regional leader in economic growth and recovery,” the nominee for the Georgian Minister of Economy, Natia Turnava, said during a joint sitting of five parliamentary committees on Monday.

“Despite the pandemic-related difficulties, we did not delay structural reforms, especially those related to the European Union Association Agreement,” Turnava stressed.

The nominee for the Minister of Economy added that the ongoing reforms aim at increasing productivity and savings. The reforms also ensure economic sustainability, developing human capital, and strengthening ties.
