Guram Macharashvili echoes Sergei Lavrov's statement

“Our pragmatic policy, at the same time, announcing that we want to reconcile with our Abkhaz and Ossetian brothers, is precisely the basis for achieving Georgia’s territorial integrity peacefully,” said Guram Macharashvili, a member of the ‘People’s Power’ party.

According to Macharashvili, the restoration of Georgia’s territorial integrity is a “cherished Georgian Dream for the Georgian society.”

“We welcome the statement that Russia will not interfere in Georgian-Abkhaz and Georgian-Ossetian relations, but this statement will only be credible if Russia takes practical steps and withdraws its troops from Georgia,” Macharashvili remarked on Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s statement.
