Grain storage enterprise opens in Imereti within EU-Georgia program
With the financial support of the EU-Georgia “Integrated Development Program of Pilot Regions,” Company “Kaila” opened a grain storage enterprise in Samtredia, the Imereti region.
Deputy Georgian Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Tengiz Nasaridze, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mzia Giorgobiani, Imereti Regional Envoy Zviad Shalamberidze and Samtredia Mayor Davit Bakhtadze visited the facility.
Within the program, the company received a loan in the amount of GEL 450 000, of which the Rural Development Agency would fund GEL 270 000.
The enterprise will store up to 1 000 tons of grains collected from the farmers. The company employs eight people.
The EU-Georgia “Integrated Development Program of Pilot Regions” operates in the Imereti, Kakheti, Guria and Racha-Lechkhumi regions. It aims to support small and medium-sized businesses.
Within the framework of the program, 48 enterprises were financed throughout Georgia.
In total, the approved loan amounted to GEL 32.6 million, of which the amount of co-financing by the Rural Development Agency exceeded GEL 19.2 million.
