For the first time in history, Tbilisi, along with three other European cities, is co-hosting the FIBA EuroBasket 2022, which kicks off on September 1.

The Georgian Public Broadcaster First Channel will broadcast live from the Tbilisi Arena the games of Group A, which features Spain, Turkey, Belgium, Bulgaria, Montenegro, and Georgia.

Eurobasket 2022 Opening Ceremony took place in Rike Park in Tbilisi on August 31.

Georgian Public Broadcaster Director General Tinatin Berdzenishvili congratulated the viewers on this historic event.

“I congratulate our spectators, all of Georgia. Georgia hosts Eurobasket for the first time, and GPB is the exclusive partner and host of this big event for the first time. We have been preparing for it for several months. The Broadcaster will air all 41 matches live on GPB’s TV channels – First Channel, Teleskola, and radio at listeners’ request,” Tinatin Berdzenishvili assured.

The GPB First Channel organized a special fans’ zone to watch the games on the big screen in Rike Park.

“There is an open, healthy space to watch basketball and spend the hot days pleasantly,” Berdzenishvili added.

According to Dir/Gen, Ranina’s concert to support Georgian basketball players will take place in the same zone on September 5.
