Giorgi Gvimradze, the host of GPB First Channel’s program Tavisupali Khedva (Free Vision) interviewed Peter Siarto, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
The interview focused on the European Council’s recent decision and Georgia’s EU prospects. Hungarian FM highlighted Hungary stands in favour of granting candidate status to Georgia. He dubs the decision by European Council a mistake, “We want the EU to make up it,” he says.
“The preconditions which have been put forward for you [Georgia] are basically unexplainable, absolutely not concrete, just political, no performance indicators attached… most of them are simply senseless,” Peter Siarto stated.
He thinks that granting the status to Georgia is a matter of political will, which does not exist at this stage.
