The Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) will host the 18th News Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) on November 22-23.
The annual conference will bring together up to 100 news directors, editors-in-chief, and foreign editors from EBU’s 56-member public broadcasters. EBU Director General Noel Curran will also attend it.
This year, the Assembly will also elect the members of the News Committee for the 2023-2025 mandate.
“The European Broadcasting Union’s News Assembly is an outstanding event by virtue of its significance and scope. This year, Georgia and our country’s public broadcaster will be the host, organizer and active participant of the 18th Assembly,” said Tinatin Berdzenishvili, GPB Director General.
The 2023 News Assembly will be an in-person event with the aim to share knowledge and discuss various challenges facing journalism and public service media today.
