GPB Dir/Gen vows Nutsa Buzaladze's performance proves Georgia is worthy member of EU family
Many European countries supported Georgia at Eurovision. We joined the top ten, which is already a great victory, said the Georgian Public Broadcaster’s Director General, Tinatin Berdzenishvili.
Berdzenishvili stressed that Georgia was among the strong countries in the semi-finals, and advancing to the finals was a great victory.
“It is a very emotional evening! After seven years, Georgia is in the finals amidst the backdrop when the selection system has changed, and the jury no longer scores the finalists. Only supportive SMS drive the participants to the finals.
We saw that many European countries supported Georgia. We became the winner among very strong countries. We joined the top ten, which is already a great victory. I think Nutsa’s performance and advancing to the finals proved once again that Georgia was, is and will be a worthy member of the European family,” said Tinatin Berdzenishvili.
The representative of Georgia, Nutsa Buzaladze, advanced to the Eurovision final. The second semi-final of Eurovision 2024 was held on May 9. The grand final is slated for May 11, 2024. GPB First Channel will air the show.
