GPB Dir/Gen congratulates Georgia on winning JESC 2024: We are ready to host Junior Eurovision in our country
Tinatin Berdzenishvili, Director General of GPB First Channel, congratulated Georgia on winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) 2024, saying Andria Putkaradze “delivered an outstanding performance that made our entire nation proud.”
She said the victory was marked by exceptional scoring with Georgia receiving top points.
“All countries with a high musical culture gave us 12 points. The audience vote was also paramount for us, we received very high points from all over Europe, this is a well-deserved victory. Georgia is a musical country where this culture is at its peak,” she stated.
Berdzenishvili highlighted the preparation process, praising Andria Putkaradze’s dedication. She also acknowledged the role of “Ranina” in identifying exceptional young talents.
“When one Eurovision ends, preparations for the following one begin; this is a challenging process. “Ranina” assists us in selecting the best children, even when there are many talents, it is tough to choose.
Giga Kukhianidze, the songwriter won the Eurovision Song Contest for the fourth time. I am pleased that Georgia won again with beautiful music. Andria tackled the situation with tremendous responsibility. He was careful with his voice to properly represent his nation. The rest was viewed by the audience on television. It was unbelievable; they gave us 12 points 12 times, and it was extremely emotional.
We are a little nation with a small diaspora, but a miracle occurred; I believe the entire Europe backed a good performer, an excellent song, and our country, Georgia.
We will meet with the European Broadcasting Union representatives to discuss what will happen next, but we are prepared to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in our country,” she added.
Andria Putkaradze has secured Georgia’s fourth JESC victory with his heartfelt performance of “To My Mom” in Madrid, Spain.
