Gov't sound policies result in double-digit economic growth, PM says
The trend is improving, poverty and unemployment are diminishing, and more action is still needed, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili told the reporters after meeting with the Georgian Business Association.
When asked about the opposition’s claims of unfair budget allocation, the PM reminded the country’s GDP was just 27 billion during the previous regime.
“During the previous government’s tenure, our country’s GDP was valued at roughly 27 billion. It is now 80 billion, and the country’s GDP increased by 30 billion in just two years under my administration. In addition, about 80,000 new jobs were created. The trend is improving, poverty and unemployment are reducing, but more effort is required,” the Prime Minister stated.
The country’s double-digit economic growth, as the PM pointed out, is the product of sound policies.
“We must make all necessary efforts to maintain this trend and achieve solid economic growth,” Garibashvili emphasized.
Inflation, according to PM, is now a global issue.
