The Interagency Coordination Council held its regular meeting under the chairmanship of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia today.
During said videoconference, the council discussed the process of lifting restrictions, and the possible impact of this process on the epidemiological situation in general.
Although the quarantine in Marneuli was lifted today, other restrictions applicable throughout Georgia remain in force, the meeting emphasized.
“On the Government’s decision, effective today, beauty salons and aesthetic medicine centers may reopen in line with the rules and standards defined by the Health Ministry, and the ban on both indoor and outdoor gatherings of more than three people has also been lifted. However, the ban on gatherings of more than 10 people remains in force, and so do restrictions on vehicle movement, namely on movement of more than three persons per car (including the driver). Passengers must take back seats, the Government Administration said.
The meeting reiterated that easing certain restrictions places greater responsibility on citizens for scrupulously observing recommendations from healthcare specialists in order to avoid the worsening of the epidemiological situation and the need to reinstate previously lifted restrictions.
