Girchi says its financing transparent, available on webpage, accessible for all
“The financing of the Girchi party is transparent, available on the webpage, and accessible for all,” said Iago Khvichia, the leader of the Girchi party.
According to Iago Khvichia, the Georgian Dream (GD) and the United National Movement (UNM) are the least transparent parties.
“We did not expect that anybody would say that we hide finances. We can be accused of anything but not concealing finances. As for trust, how can we trust the state controller in a country where there is no court and everything is as one person decides,” he said.
The Girchi leader added that there is nothing bad in transparency but the GD’s speaking about non-transparency “sounds unserious.”
Head of the Anti-Corruption Bureau Razhden Kupradze said at the news briefing that several opposition parties fail to comply with financial transparency requirements.
According to Razhden Kupradze, through monitoring, the Bureau determined that political parties European Georgia-Movement for Freedom, Yes to Europe-Strategy Aghmashenebeli, United National Movement, Girchi-For More Freedom, Strong Georgia-Lelo, For People, For Freedom, Elene Khoshtaria-Droa and New Unity-Gvaramia, Melia fully or partially made their finances transparent.
