Girchi Party says politicians should learn to negotiate

Iago Khvichia, a Girchi party member, said the fulfilment of the EC’s proposed 12-point priorities was unlikely while the government kept ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili imprisoned.

The Girchi party member commented on the press briefing at the European Parliament, which also included Saakashvili’s family members, as well as the attorney and MEPs Anna Fotiga and Mirian Lexmann.

“We believe initiatives that facilitate the Georgian Dream in releasing Mikheil Saakashvili should be put on the table for discussion. The European Parliament paper also mentions the United National Movement (UNM) party making compromises. Arguments from medical professionals would not be enough to advance the cause,” he stated.

Iago Khvichia stated that political parties must learn to negotiate and debate if the country wants to achieve European integration.
