Giorgi Vashadze says nobody plans rally during Pompeo's visit in Georgia

“I hope that the opposition will have the opportunity to meet with Mike Pompeo and to talk about the most serious problems that emerged after the rigged elections in Georgia,” said Giorgi Vashadze, the Strategy Builder leader.

As Vashadze noted, “Pompeo’s visit to Georgia is very important as the country is facing a severe political crisis.”

Vashadze also commented on Mikheil Saakashvili’s statement suggesting that rallies should be held during Pompeo’s visit in Georgia.

“No one is going to meet with Mike Pompeo by a rally, this is nonsense. We may have some symbolic event to show our position, which absolutely suits all circles. Any support from our American partners is very important to us,” Vashadze said.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit Georgia on November 17-18. During his visit, Pompeo will meet with President Zurabishvili, Prime Minister Gakharia, and Foreign Minister Zalkaliani. He will also meet with the Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Ilia II.
