Giorgi Vashadze: Sanctions are a clear signal that violence, illegal arrests, and regime repression will not go unpunished

Sanctions are a clear signal from the international community that violence, illegal arrests, and regime repression will not go unpunished, said Giorgi Vashadze, leader of Strategy Agmashenebeli, in a statement released by the party’s press service.

He emphasized that the only path to a victorious and free Georgia is through greater integration with Europe, enhanced security, and increased investment.

“The sanctions imposed yesterday are a direct result of the ongoing protests by the Georgian people. This is a clear message from the international community: violence, illegal arrests, and regime repression will not be tolerated. Ivanishvili’s regime is the main threat, and the propaganda narratives of his supporters about fictional enemies or the attempts to rewrite history through the Tsulukiani’s treason commission cannot alter this reality. It is becoming evident that, due to Ivanishvili’s actions, Georgia is left isolated, defenseless, suffering from poverty and sanctions. Our path is clear: more Europe, more security, more investment. This is the only viable path to victory for a free Georgia,” stated Giorgi Vashadze.
