Giorgi Vashadze: Protest begins in Tbilisi and spreads throughout Georgia; every subsequent rally will be more intense

Giorgi Vashadze, a member of the Unity-National Movement, voiced the opposition’s demands during the Monday protest rally outside the Parliament.

The opposition political groupings are calling for new elections.

“We do not recognise the stolen elections and the legitimacy of the Parliament; We launched a resistance movement, first in Tbilisi and subsequently throughout Georgia;

Each following demonstration will be increasingly intense and focused on a single purpose;

We continue to collect evidence for a complete international inquiry so that all culprits are punished;

It’s something we all have to do together, and it will last until we win;

Our primary aim, together with the administration, is for the Central Election Commission (CEC) to declare the elections invalid,” he stated.

Vashadze suggested organising a resistance march tomorrow from the Sports Palace.

“We will meet tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Tbilisi Sports Palace. It’s difficult to gather at this time, yet the homeland isn’t only for the night time,” he added.
