Giorgi Chanturia, person detained and then released into unsolved murder case of former MP and General Samson Kutateladze, co-owner of so-called Istanbul Market in Rustavi town of Kvemo Kartli region, and his sister Mariam Chanturia are being questioned at investigation body.
According to Lawyer Aleksandre Kobaidze, investigation has entered into a dead-end. However, Kobaidze says that the defense is ready to cooperate with ongoing investigation.
Officers of Criminal Police carried out a repeated search in Chanturia’s house this afternoon. His clothes and private items were taken for expertise. In parallel, the house of Chanturia’s wife was searched today at Mtskheta Street in Tbilisi.
Chanturia talked about pressure on part of law-enforcers in an interview with journalists. He confirmed that he had met with Kutateladze on the day when former MP was found murdered but denied the fact of having had any confrontation with the killed General. Chanturia was released on January 19 since he had strong alibi.
Investigation activities continue into the murder case. Officers of Criminal Police examined Kutateladze’s office and keep it sealed.
Co-owner of so-called Istanbul Market Officers was found killed in his office on January 15. Kutateladze was shot dead by 6 bullets. The market had 4 stakeholders including Kutateladze.
