Giorgi Gakharia: We are in close contact with international partners, observing the development of events
Peaceful negotiations and active diplomacy have no alternatives- stated Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia at the Executive Government Meeting today, when commenting on the recent development of events in the Middle East.
According to the Prime Minister, Government of Georgia has been in contact with its international partners from the very first day and has been closely observing the development of events together with them.
“Worldwide attention was focused on the tension escalated in the Middle East in recent days. We have been fully synchronized in keeping close contact with our international partners and observing the development of events together with them.
That is why we have kept most close contact with our international partners and considerately observing what is happening in the wider region. In addition, every respective institution of the Government of Georgia – both in terms of security and foreign affairs – are in close contact with their counterparts and pursue joint efforts to fully analyze the threats that may be faced by our country as a result of developments in the region” – noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.
According to the Head of Government of Georgia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to fully support each citizen of the country within the zone of tension to avoid the potential complications and this effort should be channeled through diplomatic representations, consulates and embassies.
