Giorgi Gakharia says Ministry of Agriculture expands business support programs
“We have provided anti-crisis assistance to our winegrowers as well as other sectors. We will discuss this during the next session of the government,” Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia made this statement during today’s session of the government.
As the prime minister noted, “the Ministry of Agriculture is expanding business support programs and adding grape processing to the list of sectors receiving support.”
According to the prime minister, “this will be an effective support package for winegrowers.”
“We are considering the changes to agricultural programs. These changes aim at supporting local production; with this aim in mind, the Ministry of Agriculture is expanding business support programs to include new fields. Tაhese fields include hazelnut processing, tea production, foodstuff production; grape processing will also be added to the list. As you know, the grape harvest is approaching and we will discuss this during the next session of the government. We have provided anti-crisis assistance to our winegrowers, as well as other sectors, and we will discuss this during the next session of government. This will be an effective support package for our winegrowers,” Giorgi Gakharia stated.
