Georgian PM: Mask-wearing rate to increase to 90-95% to open economy
According to the acting Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, the transitional result amid the slowdown in the spread of coronavirus is that the mask-wearing rate increased to 65 percent. Gakharia noted it is not enough. Wearing masks should rise to 90-95 percent to allow the economy to open boldly.
“The wearing of facial masks in the country has increased to approximately 65 percent, which is one of the achievements. Although this is not enough, our goal is 90-95% to open the economy boldly. I reiterate that we must all take care of our elders, chronically ill citizens, first and foremost. We must do our best to keep mobility low. Mobility could increase when all risks are secured. It is our responsibility to each other, to our citizens and our elders”, Gakharia said.
