Giorgi Gakharia congratulates Muslim community in Georgia on the feast of Ramazan Bayrami
Giorgi Gakharia, Head of Government of Georgia congratulated the Muslim community of Georgia with Ramazan Bayrami. Prime Minister of Georgia met the leaders of the Muslim religion at the Government Administration today.
According to the Press Office of Government Administration, the particular focus was made by the host of the meeting at the multi-century tradition of peaceful co-existence of different ethnic and religious communities in Georgia.
“It is our honor to have an opportunity to congratulate Ramazan Bayrami to each Muslim citizen of our country. It is a day of reconciliation, warmth, love and care for each other. We have a great history of common service to this country. We are all children of Georgia and it has been so for centuries. We all serve to this country and what is most important, we respect our faith. This is most important to us. Hence, I once again congratulate every Muslim with this great day – Ramazan Bayrami. I want to wish you an opportunity of contributing to a smaller or bigger extent to the development of our country, to the support of our citizens and to making harmony the greatest feature of our state – harmony in everything: between cultures, religions, co-existence. It is what we can teach to the rest of the world. Our knowledge is a co-existence of people with so many different religious affiliations in this small country, who do a common job in terms of serving one state and caring for each other, of course. Ultimately, it means that we all need to care for this country together” noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Muslim leaders of all Georgia expressed their gratitude to the Head of Government of Georgia for the support provided to the Muslim community in the recent years.
“We are all building a democratic state together. Degree of democracy is rising. Today, rights of individuals and humans at large are advanced and stand at a high level, for which we are all commonly grateful. I wish to congratulate you with the Independence Day of our country in advance. Muslims have always stood by this country” noted Adam Shantadze, West Georgia Mufti.
Meeting was attended by senior officials of the Muslim Division of All Georgia, Head of Government Administration of Georgia, Adviser to the Prime Minister of Georgia on Human Rights and Gender Equality, Head of Human Rights Secretariat and Chairman of the State Agency of Georgia for Religious Affairs.
