Giorgi Gakharia congratulates France on National Day

Giorgi Gakharia wishes a Happy National Day to France’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Diego Colas.

The meeting at the Administration of the Government emphasized the positive dynamic in bilateral relations and singled out France and Georgia as mutually reliable and trustworthy partners.

According to the French Ambassador, France lauds the measures taken by the Georgian Government and the public sector in general amid the pandemic which clearly demonstrate that Georgia is one of the most successful countries in the fight against COVID-19.

The French diplomat pointed out bilateral cooperation will continue, as evidenced, among others, by 190 million euro allocated in financial assistance by the French Development Agency to Georgia.

The Prime Minister and the French Ambassador underlined the importance of Georgia’s inclusion on the list of safe countries by the EU. Giorgi Gakharia and Diego Colas also discussed the issue of fostering direct flights between the two countries, namely the resumption of Air France flights to and from Georgia.
