Giorgi Gakharia argues citizens to be active in using the Stop COVID application

The Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia argued everyone to be active in using the Stop COVID application warning citizens about possible contacts with infected persons.

Giorgi Gakharia, together with Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs Ekaterine Tikaradze, held a meeting with representatives of clinics.

“The healthcare system is presently capable of handling the spiking wave of infections, which is why it is very important to test those infected and identify their contacts-something relevant structures are working on-and to isolate such persons as fast as possible. Very useful to that end is the Stop COVID application developed by the Health Ministry. I have it in my phone, and I urge everyone who happens to visit a hospital to download this app. Our goal is to make sure that only those who require inpatient treatment visit inpatient facilities. When people are hospitalized, their conditions are serious or critical, and treating them because our common cause. That is why I believe it prudent to create a separate group of intensive care specialists. Of course, we must make good use of the knowledge accumulated so far by the clinical group. The success against the first wave had its heroes and faces. Now we are entering the second wave that poses a different kind of problems, and new heroes must emerge to join their meritorious ranks,” Giorgi Gakharia said.
