Gregoriy Karasin still represents a state official that enables him to perform the assigned duties – Gia Volski, Leader of the Parliamentary Majority said.
As Volski underlined, Karasin had been engaged in Georgia-Russia negotiations since 2013 and had done many things allowable by the format. “Who will be represented in the negotiations is not a matter of a great interest, whatsoever,” Volski said.
The dialogue with Georgia, formerly carried out between Special Representative of the Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Abashidze and former Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin, will be continued, – Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said on November 1.
“By the order of the Government of Russia, Grigory Karasin will continue the dialogue with the Special Representative of the Georgian Prime Minister for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze, The next meeting in Prague is tentatively scheduled for November,” Zakharova stated.
