Gerald Connolly – We will not be calm until Russian occupation ends
“We will not be calm until Georgian territories return to the sovereign state and Russian occupation ends,” Gerald Edward Connolly, American Congressman and Chairman of Georgia’s Group of Friends stated in US Congress in a speech delivered during the solemn reception dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of First Democratic Republic of Georgia.
According to Congressman Connolly, Georgia is an exemplary country which gained independence, pluralism and democratic rule in the region which often served as the root of autocracy and authoritarianism.
In his speech, Connolly reiterated US support to Georgia’s territorial integrity, state sovereignty, its independence and courage of Georgian people.
