Geostat: Georgia’s inflation rises to 3.1% in July according to HICP

In July 2024, inflation in Georgia, according to the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), was 3.1%, a rise from the 1.8% inflation reported by the national methodology, the Geostat reported.

Key changes in inflation rates by category (compared to July 2023) are: food and non-alcoholic beverages: +2.6%; alcoholic beverages and tobacco: +4.4%; clothing and shoes: +3.1%; housing, water, electricity, gas, and heating: -2.7%; furniture, household items, and repairs: -0.6%; healthcare: +1.1%; transport: +9.1% communication: -7.4%; leisure, entertainment, and culture: 0.0%; education: +3.6%; hotels, cafes, and restaurants: +9.6%; various goods and services: +4.3%.
