Georgia's Labor Code envisages paternity leaves for men

The Labor Code of Georgia envisages paternity leaves for men. The amendments into the law consider the paid leave due to pregnancy, childbirth, as well as child care.

According to the law, by an employee’s own statement, the employee may be granted a leave because of pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare – amounting to 126 calendar days. In case of complicated childbirth or twins – 143 calendar days.

On top of that, by an employee’s own statement, due to the child care, the employee may be granted a leave up to 604 calendar days of which only 57 calendar days will be paid.

In case of complicated childbirth or twins, the employee may be granted a leave up to 587 calendar days.
