Georgian rainforests, wetlands inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List
The World Heritage Committee today inscribed Colchic rainforests and wetlands of Georgia on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Mtirala and Kolkheti National Parks, as well as the Kintrishi and Kobuleti protected areas added to the list, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, dubbing it as “paramount event not only for the country but also for the region”.
Georgian President Salome Zourabicvili says it is “an absolutely worthy addition to the World Heritage list.”
Georgian authorities also echo the recent decision.
