Georgia's external merchandise trade 1.6 % higher year-on-year, GeoStat says
In January-July 2024, Georgia’s external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) amounted to USD 12 566.8 million, 1.6 per cent higher year-on-year. The exports equaled 3 532.2 million (1.3 per cent lower), while the imports stood at USD 9 034.6 million (2.9 per cent higher), the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) said on Monday.
The negative trade balance was USD 5 502.4 million and its share in external trade turnover constituted 43.8 percent.
The share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 81.3 per cent. The top partners were Kyrgyzstan (USD 587.5 million), Kazakhstan (USD 446.5 million) and Russia (USD 407.2 million).
The share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 68.9 per cent. The top partners were Türkiye (USD 1 519.7 million), Russia (USD 1 020.6 million) and the USA (USD 991.2 million), the GeoStat stated.
