Georgia's Ambassador to NATO sees Georgia fundamental, valuable pillar of NATO from regional and Euro-Atlantic perspectives
“Georgia has been high on the agenda of the summits, and we took the opportunity for the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia to meet with his colleagues, ministers, and representatives of the highest level of the NATO International Service,” Viktor Dolidze, Ambassador of Georgia to NATO, highlighted.
According to Dolidze, Georgia is and remains the closest and most valuable pillar of NATO.
“Yesterday, we had a meeting with Xavier Colomina, the special representative of NATO in our region. We discussed a variety of topics, including the expansion of our defence capabilities. During the meeting, we also talked about the Georgia SNGP (tailored to needs package) development, which is a program specifically designed for Georgia.
We also discussed the political context and explored various topics from the perspective of our future membership. Georgia is and will continue to be a fundamental, close, and valuable pillar of NATO both in the region and from the Euro-Atlantic standpoint. This process will persist in the future, as both NATO members and Georgians are well aware of this.
During these meetings, the minister has the chance to speak with his colleagues in both formal and informal settings. Today, Secretary of State Blinken is hosting a large dinner, to which all regional partnership members will be invited, whether they are from the East, South or elsewhere.
At the same time, he will have the opportunity to talk with his colleagues about global threats, as well as to plan future steps in terms of both multilateral and bilateral cooperation”, Dolidze said.
