Georgian, Serbian FMs meet

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić in Luxembourg on the sidelines of the Council of Europe Ministerial.

According to Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as prospects for strengthening trade and economic ties. They welcomed the launch of direct flights between Georgia and Serbia in June, highlighting its role in deepening business and people-to-people connections.

The decision by Serbia to establish an embassy in Tbilisi was also positively evaluated, regarded as a significant step toward further strengthening bilateral relations.

The Georgian side emphasised the importance of learning from Serbia’s and other Western Balkan countries’ experiences in the context of European integration.

The discussion also addressed regional security challenges. Both ministers reaffirmed mutual respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and Serbia.
