Georgian progress towards EU alignment and reforms recognized by EU institutions, says Borrell
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Joseph Borrell, emphasized that the Georgian efforts to align with the European Union acquis and progress in reforms have been recognized and acknowledged by EU institutions in various analytical reports.
“The commission representation and the director general in charge will remain here to continue working. I will go to visit EUMM in the country near the border with Russia. I agree with you that If everything goes wrong or badly, Russia will be very happy. Russia will be very happy if we don’t succeed. But, Mr. Prime Minister, each country is different. Each country is different, including their political, social, economic, and security situation. I want you to be sure, and the Georgians to be sure that the Georgian efforts to align with the European Union acquis and progress into reforms have been acknowledged by the European Union’s institutions in all the analytical reports that we have produced. And we will continue doing that in a more objective manner,” he declared.
