The President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili on Thursday hosted Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Uzra Zeya, at the Orbelian Palace.
According to the president’s press office, the meeting covered the Georgian-American relations and Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
“The President discussed the country’s European future, emphasising that Georgia has never been and will never be pro-Russian; the vast majority of Georgians support the country’s European course. The President of Georgia praised Under Secretary for the United States’ strong assistance for the country’s growth in a variety of domains since the nation’s independence.
The conversation also touched on the upcoming parliamentary elections. The President mentioned that society, non-governmental sector, and young people will be fully mobilized, and Georgian people will reaffirm their European choice.
The meeting reviewed the postponing of military exercises and their potential effects. The importance of the “Georgian Charter” was emphasised, which is a president-tabled action plan to execute EU recommendations as soon as feasible.
