Georgian President echoes Russian troop build-up near Ukraine's border
Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili echoed the recent Russian troop build-up near the Ukraine border, assuming “Ukraine will withstand the existing tensions and threats and no one and nothing can change its chosen path.”
Zourabichvili anew pledged Georgia’s support to Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. At the same time, she said: “I’m sorry that our society has lately been more preoccupied with rallies of narrow political significance and retaliation against each other than being interested in the developments around the country.”
“Be that the development of a post-conflict situation between our two neighbours or the current situation on the Ukrainian border. This is what we should be interested in and concerned about, as the peace and development of us and our region are integral,” she stated in her Facebook post.
