Georgian President concerned about emerging 'unbelievable' anti-Western sentiments
Unfortunately, completely unbelievable anti-European sentiments emerged in Georgia this year when we got a European perspective, said Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili during Mikheil Muskhelishvili’s Awarding Ceremony at the Orbelian Palace.
Salome Zourabichvili remarked in her speech that by delivering the European perspective, the previously existing geographical concerns were removed, adding that “Mikheil Muskhelishvili probably dreamed of it.”
“Unfortunately, this year has seen the emergence of really unbelievable anti-European, anti-Western forces and utterances in Georgia, which we have probably not heard since the Soviet period. All beliefs have the right to exist, but hearing voices that could only be heard in Soviet propaganda is unfortunate,” said the President.
