Georgian PM: We will no longer announce lockdown, there is no need for that, country's economy simply can not resist it
“We will no longer announce lockdown, there is no need for that, the country’s economy simply can not resist it,” said the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia after the meeting of the Coordination Council on COVID-19.
According to PM, coexisting with the virus and fighting it is a long-term process that everyone should understand.
“Living with the virus and fighting it is a long-term process. Consequently, due to this longevity, our strategy is changing, which is to adapt to the virus and manage it. Therefore, our most correct decision will be targeted restrictions and finding and maintaining balance,” stated Gakharia.
Georgia has reported 1186 new coronavirus cases, seven new deaths and 278 recoveries today.
