The Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia met with the Lithuanian Ambassador to Georgia Andrius Kalindra on Tuesday.
The meeting discussed exceptional and friendly relations between the two countries and Lithuania’s support for Georgia on the European and Euro-Atlantic integration path.
The parties exchanged information on the current situation related to the Covid pandemic in both countries. They stressed the importance of coordination and mutual support in the fight against the pandemic.
Prime Minister spoke about the governmental efforts to obtain the COVID-19 vaccine. Praised Lithuania for initiating a letter signed by 13 European Union Foreign Ministers to set up a support mechanism, allowing the Eastern Partners to secure early access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
The parties welcomed the fact that Lithuania would now use Sakartvelas as the only official name of Georgia.
