Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.
According to the government’s press office, Macron hosted Garibashvili at Élysée Palace.
The meeting focused on the European Commission’s positive recommendation to the European Council to grant Georgia EU candidate status. The head of government called the decision ‘historic.’
Garibashvili thanked Macron for France’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and European future.
The duo discussed the issues of cooperation as well as the prospects of deepening partnerships in various domains.
The conversation also focused on the security environment in the region and around the world.
