Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, on Thursday, met the visiting members of the Board of Directors from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
According to the government’s press office, the dignitaries discussed the successful cooperation between the Georgian Government and EBRD, along with the significant projects that are implemented in the public and private sectors of the country with the support of the Bank. It was noted that EBRD has to this day invested almost 5 billion Euros in 283 projects.
The PM said the EBRD’s support in financing the priority areas of the country was priceless. Hopes were expressed that productive cooperation will be continued in the future as well.
The meeting also covered the country’s ongoing structural reforms and progress achieved in democratic development and advancement.
“Focus was made on the fact that irrespective of the current challenges, effective policy of the Government of Georgia led to double-digit economic growth in the country during the past 2 years. In addition, attention was paid to the specific indicators, including the positive trends witnessed in the sector of tourism.
Dignitaries also spoke about large infrastructure projects that are implemented in the country for increasing the degree of energy security and energy independence of Georgia,” reads the press statement.
