Georgian PM hosts President of European Judo Union

Georgia will host the Judo European Championship in 2026. Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia discussed details related to the tournament during a meeting with László Tóth, President of the European Judo Union today.

According to the government’s press office, Kobakhidze emphasized that “the Government of Georgia will fully support the further development of cooperation with the European Judo Union and ensure the high-level organization of the Judo European Championship.”

“An agreement for hosting the 2026 Judo European Championship in Georgia was signed today. The document was signed by the Minister of Sports Shalva Gogoladze, the President of the European Judo Union László Tóth and the President of the Judo Federation Levan Nozadze.

Numerous prominent European judokas will compete in the continental championship, which will take place in Tbilisi from April 23-26 next year,” reads the statement.
