Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday.
In the one-on-one meeting, the Prime Ministers discussed the relations and prospects of future cooperation between the two countries. Focus was made on the friendly and good neighborly relations between Georgia and Armenia. It was noted that the signing of the strategic partnership agreement between the countries played a decisive role in the deepening of the relations between Georgia and Armenia.
According to the Government’s press office, Irakli Kobakhidze thanked the Prime Minister of Armenia for supporting the UN resolution on the right of return of IDPs and refugees to Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region.
The highly dynamic relations and the intensity of high-level bilateral visits between Georgia and Armenia were underlined.
The parties discussed regional dynamics. It was noted that Georgia strongly supports peaceful coexistence in the South Caucasus. In this regard, the importance of joint efforts toward tackling regional challenges was underlined. Georgia’s commitment to continuing playing a positive role in ensuring peace and stability in the region was emphasized.
Following the one-on-one meeting, negotiations continued in an extended format.
The parties discussed matters pertaining to the cooperation between Georgia and Armenia across a variety of areas. The conversation touched on the economic relations between the countries. Emphasis was placed on the importance of tapping into the full potential found in this direction.
Partnership in attracting foreign investments and the areas of energy, transport, tourism, communications, and information technology was also discussed.
