Georgian PM: Developing educational system govt's one of top priorities
Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday met with Shaori Youth Camp participants in Georgia’s western region of Racha, underscoring the significance of developing the nation’s education system, particularly higher education and infrastructure.
“Developing the educational system is one of our top priorities, and we have big plans for it. We will focus on university education, including infrastructural improvements.
Sports infrastructure will develop significantly, and it will be one of the main objectives of the government in the future.
Many projects and initiatives will be implemented in the next four years. The more young people participate in these programmes, the better,” Kobakhidze stated.
According to the government’s press office, “this year, with the financial assistance of Georgia’s Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth, over 4,500 participants were hosted in youth camps, where young people were able to engage in a variety of educational and sporting activities, as well as meetings with trainings on various topics. The project’s total value amounted to more than GEL 4 million.”
The meeting was conducted in a question-and-answer format, which was also attended by the Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, and Education Minister Giorgi Amilakhvari, as well as the MPs and representatives of the local authorities.
