Georgian PM congratulates Yezidis on day of establishment of Ziarata Yezidi in Tbilisi

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili congratulated the Yezidis living in Georgia on the day of launching Ziarata Yezidi – the only Yezidi shrine in Eastern Europe and countries of the post-Soviet bloc.

“Establishment of the temple is a clear proof of tolerant nature embodied in Georgians and great respect towards the Yezidis and, which was promoted in 2015 by our political team.

The relationship built on the brotherly and exemplary friendship between us dates many years. We are building the future of the country together and we are taking care of its improvement and development together, which is most rewarding.

Today is also the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Yezidi Theological Council of Georgia,” reads the statement by PM.

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili also congratulated the Yezidis on the day.

“The religious diversity of our country is one of the foundations of our wealth and its strength,” President said.
