Georgian PM commemorates Archil Tatunashvili, serviceman tortured, killed by occupation forces
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday commemorated Archil Tatunashvili, a retired serviceman who was tortured and killed by Russian occupation forces in Georgia’s occupied Tskhinvali region on this day in 2018.
Garibashvili portrayed Tatunashvili as a “hero of contemporary Georgia”, saying “with his heroic self-sacrifice for the homeland, Archil Tatunashvili has set an example of a Georgian man’s honor, valor, and patriotism for generations to come.”
“Together with our citizens, I once again honor his memory. The Government is doing everything to make sure that everyone guilty of Tatunashvili’s death is brought to justice,” he vowed.
