Georgian PM begins his official visit to Turkmenistan

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has started his official visit to Turkmenistan.

A welcome ceremony as held at Ashgabat International Airport where the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguli Ataguliyev, met the head of government.

According to the Georgian government’s press office, as part of the official visit, Irakli Kobakhidze will be hosted by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, at a face-to-face meeting on March 7.

“Expanded format negotiations between members of the governments of Georgia and Turkmenistan will be held under the leadership of the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, after which agreements on cooperation in various fields between sectoral agencies will be signed,” reads the statement.
