Pilots of the Georgian Border Police brought a new European-type H145 rescue helicopter to Georgia.
The modern European-type helicopter, known as H145, is one of the latest models from the French company Airbus Helicopters. This air transport is fully equipped with firefighting and mountain rescue equipment.
The helicopter is supplied with two engines, making the flight safer. It is also highly manoeuvrable and compatible with the mountainous terrain of Georgia.
Police and emergency management services in countries like Germany, Switzerland, France, and Canada operate similar helicopters successfully.
The pilots of the Border Police Special Tasks Aviation Department underwent training at the Airbus Helicopters academy in Germany.
On December 19, 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs signed an agreement with the French company Airbus Helicopters regarding the purchase of three H145 helicopters.
The other two aerial transports are scheduled to be delivered in Georgia by June 2024.
