Georgian peacekeepers of the 4th Mechanized Brigade left for Germany for pre-deployment training before engaging in the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan.
The East Commander of the Georgian Armed Forces General, Roland Dzneladze, sent them off from the Alekseevka military airfield.
Georgian soldiers will undergo the five-month pre-deployment practical and theoretical training at the Schwarzborn military base. Georgian Defense Ministry informed that the German instructors would supervise the Georgian military.
Georgian peacekeepers will serve at the Marshall base in Mazār-i-Sharīf for seven months. They will replace the 3rd Mechanized Brigade staff by rotation.
