The Georgian parliamentary delegation, headed by the Chair of the Branch Economy and Economic Policy Committee, Davit Songhulashvili, met Speaker of Azerbaijani Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova.
At the meeting, the sides remarked that the Georgian and Azerbaijani nations have cultural values in common and have lived in friendly and neighbourly conditions for centuries.
Davit Songhulashvili said that inter-parliamentary cooperation serves as a key component in bilateral and multilateral relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
“We spoke about Georgia-Azerbaijan strategic relations, the joint projects’ importance in the current geopolitical situation, including the Middle Corridor. We agreed that we would jointly work on the projects, which will contribute to strengthening our countries,” he said.
The Georgian delegation comprises Agrarian Issues Committee Chair Gela Samkharauli, MPs Bezhan Tsakadze, Irakli Zarkua and Giorgi Khakhubia. Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataridze attended the meeting.
